Privacy Policy for LazyBuster
This Privacy Policy explains how LazyBuster handles information when you use the mobile application on iOS and Android devices. We designed LazyBuster so that motion detection, custom sounds, and your challenge history stay locally on your device.
1. Summary
- We do not require an account or sign-in.
- We do not sell personal information.
- We do not show ads, and we do not use tracking or advertising identifiers.
- We do not use analytics or crash-reporting SDKs that send data to our servers.
- Camera frames used for motion detection are processed entirely on your device and are never uploaded.
- Microphone access is used only if you record a custom alarm sound. Recordings stay strictly on your device.
- Challenge results, settings, and streaks are stored locally on your device.
- If you contact us by email, we will receive whatever information you include in that message.
2. Information We Do Not Collect
LazyBuster does not collect or transmit:
- Name, email address, phone number, or other contact details from inside the app.
- Precise or coarse location data.
- Contacts, photos library, or calendar data.
- Health, fitness, or financial information.
- Advertising identifiers (such as Apple’s IDFA or Google Advertising ID / GAID) or tracking data.
- Analytics events, usage logs, or crash reports sent to our servers.
- Video or photo uploads of you or anyone in front of the camera.
The app does not include in-app purchases, subscriptions, or third-party ads.
3. Information Processed or Stored on Your Device
The following data stays on your smartphone or tablet unless you delete the app or clear its data:
Camera (Motion Detection)
During a Battle Zone challenge, LazyBuster uses the camera to determine whether you are moving or sitting still. The app processes frames locally on your device, compares them, and discards them immediately after comparison. We do not save these frames to your photo library, nor do we upload them.
Managing Permissions: You can grant, deny, or revoke camera access at any time via system settings:
- iOS: Settings → LazyBuster → Camera
- Android: Settings → Apps → LazyBuster → Permissions → Camera
*Without camera access, motion challenges cannot run.
Microphone (Optional Custom Sounds)
The microphone is used only if you choose to record a custom alarm or fail sound in Settings. Built-in sounds work without microphone permissions. Recordings are stored locally on your device for playback within the app and are never uploaded.
Managing Permissions: You can revoke microphone access via system settings:
- iOS: Settings → LazyBuster → Microphone
- Android: Settings → Apps → LazyBuster → Permissions → Microphone
Imported Audio Files (Optional)
If you import an audio file for a custom sound, that file is stored and used locally within the app. We do not upload it.
Challenge History and Settings
The app stores the following data locally on your device:
- Daily check-in results (success/fail status, date, challenge mode, duration, alarm count)
- Streaks and totals displayed in the Hall of Fame
- App preferences (selected mode, sound and haptics settings, custom sound references)
This data is stored using local device storage. It is not synced to our servers, nor is it uploaded to cloud services (such as iCloud or Google Drive) by us. Deleting the app or clearing the app’s storage/data will permanently remove this information.
4. How We Use Information
- On-device camera processing: Used strictly to detect motion during a challenge.
- On-device audio: Used strictly to play alarms and custom recordings you selected.
- Local history and data: Used strictly to display your check-in records, streaks, and Hall of Fame statistics.
- We do not use any information for advertising, profiling, or selling user data.
5. Sharing and Third-Party Services
- No Selling or Sharing: We do not share, sell, rent, or disclose your information to third parties because the app does not collect or transmit your personal data.
- Email Support: If you contact us for support, we use your email address and message content solely to reply and assist with your inquiry. We do not use support communications for marketing purposes.
- Third-Party SDKs: LazyBuster does not integrate third-party analytics, advertising, social media, or remote crash-reporting SDKs.
- Operating Systems & App Stores: Apple (App Store) and Google (Google Play Store) may process system-level information according to their respective privacy policies when you download the app or manage system permission prompts. That processing is controlled by Apple and Google, not by LazyBuster.
6. Children’s Privacy
LazyBuster is designed as a family-friendly app. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Camera and microphone inputs are processed entirely on-device and are never transmitted to us or third parties. Parents and guardians are encouraged to supervise camera and audio recording usage. If you believe a child has sent us personal information via email support, please contact us at brianlin2021@gmail.com so we can delete the communication immediately.
7. Data Retention and Deletion
- Camera Processing Data: Frames used for motion detection are held transiently in memory and discarded immediately after processing. They are never saved or retained.
- Local Records & Custom Sounds: Remain on your device until you manually clear app data or uninstall the application.
- Support Emails: Retained only for as long as necessary to resolve your request or report.
Note: Because we do not maintain user accounts or cloud databases, we cannot remotely retrieve, export, or restore your local history or app data.
8. Your Choices and Controls
- Camera & Microphone Access: You can modify permissions anytime via your device's operating system settings (iOS Settings → LazyBuster or Android Settings → Apps → LazyBuster → Permissions).
- In-App Preferences: Adjust audio and haptics directly within the app's Settings menu.
- Data Removal: Uninstalling the app or clearing app storage through system settings will permanently delete all locally stored history, preferences, and custom audio files.
- Tracking & Privacy Control:
- On iOS, you can manage tracking permissions under Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. LazyBuster does not request App Tracking Transparency (ATT) permission because it does not track users across apps or websites.
- On Android, you can manage advertising privacy under Settings → Privacy → Ads. LazyBuster does not use or request the Google Advertising ID (GAID).
9. International Users
LazyBuster operates strictly on your local device and does not transfer in-app data to external servers anywhere in the world. Any email sent to support will be processed by us at the receiving email service provider.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically if app capabilities or features change (for instance, if cloud functionality is introduced). The "Last updated" date at the top of this policy will reflect any revisions. If future updates involve the collection of personal data, we will update this policy and request your consent where legally required.
